World's Edge — Dungeon Craft: X-Men

Some of my favorite X-Men were: the gentle and honest Colossus, the (pre-ninja) beautiful and strange Psylocke, the devout yet playful Nightcrawler, and the god-like and ravishing Phoenix. Those were the good ol' days - before incoherent silliness and all that.

Dark Phoenix
(Jean Grey)
Psylocke
(Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock) New!
Nightcrawler
(Kurt Wagner) New!
Colossus
(Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin) New!
Wolverine
(Logan)

The "Golden Age" for the X-Men was probably during the 80s and 90s.

  • Phoenix - Jean Grey was the nigh-omnipotent, fiery Phoenix! She and Cyclops had a true love. (The whole "everyone is Phoenix now" was stupid, and over-abuses the Phoenix idea.)
  • Psylocke - Betsy Braddock was beautiful, elegant, but also had a dark side as well. (The whole "Asian body" thing was stupid, and fetishy - and a way to avoid adding a real Asian character instead.)
  • Nightcrawler - Kurt Wagner was gentle, noble, and witty, even religious! (The whole "devil spawn" thing was stupid, and cheapens his faith - as well as supporting prejudice based on appearance.)
  • Colossus - Piotr Rasputin was kind, gentle, and artistic to boot. (They should preserved his siblings as just little sister Illyana - the whole "other brother" thing was dumb (and reminiscent of Cyclops' "other brother," too).)
  • Wolverine - Logan was cool as a runt berserker. (The movies made him too tall, too normal, and too "main character.")
